Ender's First Haircut

In many traditions, especially ours, you don't cut your child's hair until after the age of 1. They say it's for "good luck". Emil and I are not very superstitious people, so with one month left until Ender turning 1 we spontaneously decided to cut his hair. Our family freaked out. We even freaked out. But Ender enjoyed it. He actually went through two haircuts. The first one was done by Emil. It turned out really nice until Emil accidentally messed up (my heart sank and I died) when he tried to make it even. This picture was taken before daddy went in to clean it up.

His smile

All it takes is his smile to refuel us. Seeing our son smile is a constant reminder of the fruit of our labor. Exhausted, irritated, or overwhelmed, you name it... All it takes is the look in Ender's eyes and drool falling off his lips to forget about those negative feelings. Ender is seriously our superhero. Never in our life have we pushed ourselves this hard to be the best versions of ourselves. Yeah, life as a parent is not perfect or easy but when your child shows you he's appreciates, wants, and needs you... it's in those moments you realize how much of an impact you really are.

Ender at 9 months

Taken via Instagram. Ender at 9 months in Yountville, Ca
Our little Ender turned 9 months yesterday. He is growing so much everyday. He's already crawling, sitting up on his own, climbing, saying "mom" and "dada", and growing out his first tooth. What a joy! To celebrate I brought Ender on a little date to Bouchon Bakery and picked up a Birthday Cake macaron. Afterwards we walked around the neighboring plaza and enjoyed the water fountains and sunshine. He loved it!

In case you are wondering, yes those are skinny jeans for boys. Maybe a little too skinny haha.
