The 4th

Hope you had an exciting 4th of July! We spent it relaxing and catching up with family during the day. Emil and our cousins went a little crazy with waterballons since it was so hot! For the rest of the evening we enjoyed staying home and laying low.

His smile

All it takes is his smile to refuel us. Seeing our son smile is a constant reminder of the fruit of our labor. Exhausted, irritated, or overwhelmed, you name it... All it takes is the look in Ender's eyes and drool falling off his lips to forget about those negative feelings. Ender is seriously our superhero. Never in our life have we pushed ourselves this hard to be the best versions of ourselves. Yeah, life as a parent is not perfect or easy but when your child shows you he's appreciates, wants, and needs you... it's in those moments you realize how much of an impact you really are.

Father's Day Hike

For Father's Day we did what we do best... go on an adventure. We (mom, dad, little sister Rochelle, Emil, Ender, and Jinx) hiked to the Devil's Punchbowl. What we loved was that this hiking trail was only 35 minutes from our home. It was a short hike but a tiring one. It took forever just trying to find the entrance to the path since it's not a very popular trail. But of course it was beautiful and worth it. Ender had a great time in his new baby carrier. I'm sure he enjoyed watching us sweat and struggle while he basked in his little seat. There's never a dull moment with my family. I am thankful for a family who enjoys the simple things in life. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers and father figures out there. To my dad, thank you for forcing us to spend time together. Some of our most funniest memories are because of you! To my husband, thank you for supporting my creative endeavors and keeping this small family of ours together. I love you!

Ender and Jinx

We talk so much about Ender that sometimes we forget to mention our other baby, Jinx. Just like a child, Jinx yearns for our attention too. Wherever we go Jinx is right behind us making sure we don't leave him out. These two get along pretty well. However there are times Ender gets a little rough since he doesn't understand his own strength yet. But for the most part these guys are pretty close friends (we even like to think "brothers").

Cheers to the weekend! We don't have much planned but to rest and relax. If there's anything you can give mom it's TIME. Celebrate moms everywhere because we sure as heck deserve it!

DIY TOY BLOCKS

Over the weekend Emil and I made felt and fabric blocks for our niece who is currently on the way. It took us hours to finish. But we were happy with the results. I remade a few more to see if I could perfect the design (that's the perfectionist in me). Jinx wasn't suppose to be in the shoot but he wouldn't move out of the way. So again, we made him the star. That's our pup! Enjoy!

DIY PUSH PIN BOARD

We've been trying to decorate our room here and there. Our walls are completely blank so we decided it was time to give it a little character! While trying to avoid putting too many holes in the wall, we thought it would be great to create a push pin board to hang our inspiration and memories. Push pin boards, cork boards, magnetic boards, and the list goes on, are typically a bit on the pricey side. So using my budget friendly crafting abilities I made my own. Besides the materials I already have at home, I used a large foam core board ($2 from Target), and light weight fabric ($2 a yard). The board and fabric together is so light you can even hang it with foam mounting tape (no holes woohoo!). All in all this project was fun, customizable, and super affordable. Enjoy!
